German-born Ghanaian attacker Ansgar Knauff put up an impressive performance to help Eintracht Frankfurt secure victory over Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga opener on Saturday.
The 23-year-old made substitute appearances as his outfit cruised to a resounding 4-1 victory over their opponent at the Deutsche Bank Park.
Knauff needed just three minutes to announce his presence in the match. He replaced Jean Bahoya in the 67th-minute mark and found the back of the net in the 70th-minute to seal victory for the host.
Frankfurt opened the scoring in the 22nd-minute through Can Uzun before Jean Bahoya doubled the lead for the home team, three minutes later as they went to the halftime break with the advantage.
Just two minutes into the second half, Bahoya netted again to extend the lead for Frankfurt before Knauff cemented the win for the host. Justin Njinmah pulled one back for the visitors.
Having commenced the campaign on a good note, Knauff will be hoping for a successful campaign with Frankfurt.
