Michael Opoku says his ability to beat opponents one-on-one will be key to making an impact at Norwegian Eliteserien side Sarpsborg 08, following his transfer from Danish Superliga club FC Lyngby.
The 20-year-old forward, a Danish youth international of Ghanaian descent, has committed to Sarpsborg until June 2028.
His arrival comes as the club looks to bolster its attack for the second half of the 2025/26 season.
“My greatest strength is definitely my dribbling and one-on-one play. I like scoring goals and creating chances. Just come to the stadium and see,” Opoku said with a smile after completing the move.
A product of Lyngby’s youth system, Opoku has built a reputation for his composure on the ball, intelligent off-the-ball movement, and link-up play.
Last season, he netted four goals in 10 league starts, underscoring his potential as a decisive attacking threat.
Sarpsborg 08 regard him as a signing who can deliver immediate results while developing further within Norway’s competitive top tier.
The move aligns with the club’s long-term vision of investing in emerging talents capable of growing into key figures.
Though he has featured for Denmark at youth level, Opoku is also eligible to represent Ghana in senior international football.
