Ghanaian teenage striker Jerry Afriyie has completed a season-long loan move to newly-promoted Belgian Pro League side RAAL La Louviere from Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Qadsiah, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm
The 18-year-old, regarded as one of Ghana’s brightest emerging talents, joins the Belgian top-flight newcomers in search of regular first-team football after an impressive 2024 campaign that boosted his profile on the international stage.
Afriyie excelled with Ghana’s U-20 team, the Black Satellites, earning a quick promotion to the senior Black Stars, where he made a promising start to his international career.
At club level, he shone during a loan spell with Spanish Segunda Division side CD Lugo, where his pace, work rate, and finishing ability caught the eye.
His performances convinced Al-Qadsiah to integrate him into their pre-season programme in Europe, but the Saudi side has now opted to send him on loan to Belgium to accelerate his development in a competitive league.
La Louviere, in their first season back in the top tier, will count on Afriyie’s attacking flair to bolster their survival hopes.
The Ghanaian forward is expected to feature prominently in their plans, with the move seen as a valuable step in his growth and pathway toward Europe’s elite stage.
