Ghanaian attacker Isaac Nuhu marked his return to competitive football in style as he found the back of the net to help KAS Eupen secure a 2-0 win over RFC Liege in the Belgian Challenger Pro League on Sunday.
The 23-year-old winger had been sidelined for an extended period due to a serious knee injury that kept him out of action for several months.
His comeback was eagerly anticipated by the club and supporters, and he did not disappoint at the Kehrwegstadion.
The derby clash remained goalless in the first half as both sides created but failed to convert their chances.
Turkish forward Bertan Caliskan broke the deadlock in the 50th minute with a composed finish, putting Eupen ahead.
Nuhu, who started the match to inject pace and creativity, made his mark in the 71st minute.
Latching onto a well-timed pass, he slotted the ball past the opposing goalkeeper to seal a morale-boosting victory for his side.
Beyond the goal, Nuhu’s performance was a reminder of his talent, offering glimpses of the skill, pace, and flair that made him one of Eupen’s key attacking threats before his injury.
His return will undoubtedly be a significant boost for the club as they push for promotion this season.
