
Kwame Peprah has been named Player of the Competition after leading King Svay Rieng to the Cambodian Super Cup title.
The Ghanaian forward and former King Faisal striker scored a brace in the final against Cup winners Phnom Penh Crown to secure the Super Cup for the league champions.
Despite his brace heroics, the game was forced to penalties with King Svay Rieng edging their rivals 5-3.
The game which ushers in the new season saw the one-time Ghana Premier League golden boot winner announce his presence in the Asian nation.
In a thrilling encounter at the National Olympic Stadium, Peprah opened the scoring in the 16th minute after connecting a cross from left-back Kim Sokyuth.
However, the Hun Sen Cup champions responded after the break through Bolivian winger Marcarlo Tellez.
The Ghanaian attacker scored again with three minutes left to give King Svay Rieng the lead before a dramatic end to the match saw Phnom Penh Crown snatch a late equalizer.
Sa Ty scored in the 93rd minute to force the game to penalties.
In the shootout, the league winners converted all five of their penalties, while Phnom Penh Crown missed one out of their four attempts, sealing a 5-3 victory for Svay Rieng.
King Svay Rieng will begin their season with a game against NagaWorld on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
