
Black Satellites head coach Desmond Ofei has labelled their upcoming clash against Benin as a must-win encounter as Ghana look to secure progression to the next round of the tournament.
The Black Satellites were held to a 1-1 draw by Nigeria in their opening Group A fixture at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Meanwhile, Benin endured a tough start to the competition, suffering a heavy 4-1 defeat to the Flying Eagles of Nigeria. The Young Cheetahs now sit at the bottom of the group standings and are desperate for victory to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Speaking ahead of the decisive fixture, Ofei stressed that his team will not take Benin lightly despite their earlier setback.
Its a very important game for us; we want to qualify, so we have to win, he told the media.Despite the heavy defeat against Nigeria, we know they are still a good side, so we have to be sharp, we have to be hungry and shouldnt give anything away, so we will have to show on the day that were the better side to get the three points, he added.The crucial tie is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT.
