The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has ordered medical supplies to help in the operationalization of the new health facility under construction by Citi FM/Citi TV in Mepe, in the Volta Region.
The 40-foot shipping container comprises a wide range of medical equipment.
Ablakwa, in a Facebook post, disclosed that he ordered the items from Kentucky in the United States of America.
He stated that the equipment will be shipped to Ghana in the next few days.
The subsidized medical equipment includes anaesthesia machines, x-ray machines, ventilators, patient monitors, defibrillators, electronic blood pressure apparatus, nebulizer machines, and autoclaves, among others.
Other equipment includes radiant warmers, incubators, obstetric delivery sets, electronic wheelchairs, adjustable delivery beds, diagnostic sets, episiotomy sets, ultrasound machines, surgical instruments, among others.
The MP for Mepe expressed appreciation to Citi FM/TV and its partners for doing a yeoman’s job by raising funds during the floods to construct a hospital and nursing bungalows.
“Citi FM and their partners/listeners did a great job by raising funds during the floods to construct a hospital building and nursing bungalows in Mepe — I am determined to show appreciation to you all by ensuring that I secure and install the much-needed medical equipment to not only complete the laudable Citi FM initiative but also maximize the health benefits.”

After my speech at the SOS breakfast event, I proceeded to the SOS headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky to order a 40-foot-shipping-container of wide-ranging medical equipment needed to operationalize the new hospital project being constructed by Citi FM in my beloved Mepe.
The heavily subsidized medical equipment include anaesthesia machines, x-ray machines, ventilators, patient monitors, defibrillators, electronic blood pressure apparatus, nebulizer machines, autoclaves, suction machines, radiant warmers, incubators, obstetric delivery sets, electronic wheelchairs, adjustable delivery beds, diagnostic sets, episiotomy sets, ultrasound machines, surgical instruments etc.
I am thankful to my Senior Public Health Advisor, Dr. Momodou Cham and North Tongu District Health Director, Mr. Michael Zigah for the invaluable professional guidance in helping me select the medical equipment required.
The full complement of medical equipment as ordered will be shipped to Ghana in the next few days.

I am eternally grateful to SOS and their donors for this remarkable partnership with my office.
