Electroland Ghana, one of the country’s leading consumer electronics dealers, has announced significant price reductions in double folds across its product range in response to the sustained appreciation of the Ghana Cedi against major foreign currencies.
The company’s “Cedi Apicki, Apicki” promotion reflects the local currency’s remarkable 24.1 percent performance against the United States (US) dollar, from the earlier 17.17 percent gain when the promo was first launched.
This strategic price adjustment aligns with the government’s plea for businesses to lower prices with the Cedis improved performance.
Head of Marketing and Media Relations at Electroland Ghana, Adiza Ibrahim, emphasised that the company is very sensitive to fiscal market trends and is committed to ensuring clients benefit from any significant drop in the currency exchange market.
This, she said, is a testament to its customer-centric nature and dedication to passing on forex benefits to consumers as a responsible business entity.
She noted that the exchange rate has always been a critical pricing factor for importers, hence an appreciation reflects in its operation just like depreciation.
“With Ghana’s economic resurgence and the Cedis impressive recovery, we’re excited to share these gains through substantial price cuts. Our ‘Cedi Apicki’ promo that was launched recently was due to forex factors, and we have monitored the trends over this short period and believe it’s appropriate we reduce prices further, which has influenced the Apicki, Apicki, we are launching now,” she said.
The promotion runs concurrently with ongoing unprecedented discounts and freebies in the Akyedea Kesea giveaway, which features across-the-board price reductions on electronics and appliances, special freebies on select product models, and nationwide availability at all Electroland showrooms.
Mrs. Ibrahim further cautioned the public against fraudsters taking advantage of the consumers’ vulnerability to scam them out of their money.
She emphasised the need for customers to conduct due diligence, stressing that the company has not authorised any third party to request or receive electronic payments before delivery, urging buyers to be vigilant.
“We have not entrusted any third party to take mobile money payment on behalf of Electroland before their items are supplied to them. I am entreating the general public to be cautious,” she emphasised.

In the Ghanaian business environment, the exchange rate is the major component of pricing, especially for importers. With the recent blooming of the Ghanaian economy in general, combined with the appreciation of the Ghana Cedis against other foreign currencies,
“Electroland Ghana Ltd is glad to announce gargantuan reductions on all our prices. Electroland Ghana Ltd believes our customers are shareholders in our business, thus, we should celebrate,” she reiterated.
