Otto Addo has expressed confidence in his playing style claiming his teams including the Black Stars at the 2022 World Cup have always been set up to play good football.
The former Ghana international is beginning his second stint as coach of the national team and as the Black Stars gear up to face Mali and the Central Africa Republic in the 2026 World Cup.
During his first tenure, Otto Addo secured four wins, four draws, and four losses including the team’s World Cup campaign where they recorded a single win and lost twice to bow out of the Group Stage.
The 48-year-old however insists he is known for inculcating the culture of good football which he believes was prevalent at the World Cup.

He is therefore poised to stick to his style to make sure the team bounces back.
“What I want to hear assessed on is the way we play. The way we play. And I think we showed even though we wnt out, when we played Nigeria the first time I came, we played good football, not just offensively, but also defensively. Even at the World Cup, we had good phases where we played good football and this is what I want to have permanent in every game.”
Meanwhile, Addo stepped down after failing to qualify Ghana beyond the Group Stage of the World Cup to resume his talent coaching role at Dortmund.

He has however returned to take over from Chris Hughton who then served as Technical Advisor for the team during Addo’s first stint.
The former Black Stars player is tasked with redeeming the team’s lost form and the two games ahead will be crucial as Ghana chases its first win in 2024.
