
Members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) have confirmed Mr Richard Ofori Agyemang as the Mayor of Kumasi.

The 56 Assembly members present (36 elected members and 20 government appointees), out of the total 60 members, endorsed his appointment with 98.2% in an election organised by the Electoral Commission (EC) yesterday.
Fifty five members voted Yes while one voted No.
Upon his declaration by the EC, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, administered the swearing in of the mayor, who swore the Oath of Secrecy and office.
The Ashanti Regional Minister commended the Assembly Members for the massive endorsement of the President’s nominee to help move the metropolis and the region forward.

Mr. Richard Ofori Agyemang, aka King Zubah, expressed his profound gratitude to the president for nominating him for the position.
He expressed appreciation to the Ashanti Regional Chairman, the Regional Minister and other Regional Executives for their support and confidence reposed in him.
He also thanked Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, for accepting his nomination by the president and promised to work in the interest of the city.
