Bibiani Gold Stars FC return to Dun’s Park determined to put last weekend’s shock 2-0 defeat to Basake Holy Stars behind them.
The loss, their third of the season, stalled their progress, though they still sit on 16 points. They have scored 10 goals, placing them among the league’s better attacking sides, but their 11 goals conceded is an issue they have yet to resolve.
Home matches have been their biggest source of comfort. Gold Stars have won all four league games at Dun’s Park this season, looking sharp in attack and organised at the back, with only two goals allowed. They will rely on that strong home record to regain their rhythm.
Karela United make the trip after a 1-1 draw with Dreams FC, their fourth draw of the campaign. They are on 13 points but continue to show mixed form, especially in defence, where they have also conceded 11 goals.
Their struggles on the road remain a major hurdle. Karela have not won any of their four away games this season, and their only away victory in their last 15 league outings was a narrow 1-0 success against Gold Stars. Coach Nurudeen Amadu will hope his players can repeat that performance as they search for their first away win of the season.
