Ghanaian forward Abdul Basit Khalid has signed for Kosovo Superliga side FK Dukagjini, marking a return to familiar territory after several years abroad.
The 29-year-old completed his medicals before officially sealing the deal with the top-flight outfit.
Khalid, who began his professional journey with Dreams FC, has been without a club since departing Libyan powerhouse El Etthiad earlier this year.
His move to Dukagjini brings him back to Kosovar football, where he previously enjoyed a successful spell with FC Prishtina between 2016 and 2019 - a period that saw him score 30 goals in 105 matches and lift the Kosovo Cup in the 2016/17 season.
In a club statement, FK Dukagjini expressed excitement over the acquisition:
“We are pleased to announce the agreement reached with striker Basit Abdul Khalid. The 29-year-old from Ghana joins our family for this season, bringing with him experience and quality in the offensive unit. Everyone at the club welcomes Khalid and wishes him the best of luck with our shirt.”
Khalid’s signing is viewed as a major boost to Dukagjini’s attacking options as they aim for a strong domestic campaign.
The experienced Ghanaian forward has represented clubs in Albania, North Macedonia, Tunisia, Moldova, and Kuwait - bringing a wealth of experience to his new side.
