Defender Kojo Peprah Oppong marked a special moment in his career on Sunday night, making his Ghana debut in the Black Stars’ 1-0 win over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Nice defender earned his first national team call-up this month after an impressive campaign in the French Ligue 1, where his consistent performances caught the attention of the technical team.
Although Oppong did not feature in Ghana’s 5-0 win over the Central African Republic last Wednesday in Morocco, he was introduced in the second half against Comoros, making his first appearance in front of the home fans.
His composed showing added stability to the backline as Ghana held on to secure the crucial victory that confirmed their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The debut marks another milestone in the young defender’s steady rise, and he will now be looking to cement his place in Otto Addo’s plans ahead of the global showpiece in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
