Semper Fi captain Gideon Rockson was named Man of the Match (MOTM) for the second time this season following his impressive performance in the goalless draw against Nania FC at the Teshie McDan Complex on Saturday.
Despite the personal recognition, Rockson admitted he was disappointed by the result, as his side failed to secure their first home win of the season.
“Not happy we drew, but it’s part of the game. We could have won, but it was just hard luck. Let’s put it behind us, go to the drawing board and work hard for our next game,” Rockson said after the match.
“We did everything to win this game; we were compact, we possessed the ball, but couldn’t put it in the net. I will give thanks to God for winning Man of the Match. I’m a little bit down, but I’ll say thanks to my teammates.”
The draw extends Semper Fi’s unbeaten run to three matches, following a win over Accra Lions and a draw against True Democracy in previous outings.
Coach Moses Adjin-Tettey’s men had gone into the fixture with optimism after a strong week in training, but once again, their finishing let them down despite controlling much of the game. The team will now turn their focus to their next home match against Golden Kick, as they continue their search for a first home victory this season.
