Sports Minister Kofi Adams has declared Ghana's qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup mathematically secure, confidently stating that the Black Stars have effectively already booked their place in the tournament.
Speaking after Ghana's emphatic 5-0 victory over Central African Republic, the Buem MP explained that the team's massive goal difference makes it impossible for rivals to overtake them.
"The goal difference is huge, and it is not possible for Madagascar to go to Mali and beat them by 8-0, and then we will lose by 8-0. It's just not possible," Adams stated.
The Sports Minister emphasised that Sunday's final qualifier against Comoros should be treated as a celebration rather than a decisive match. "Sunday is just for us to get to the stadium to celebrate the players," he said, urging fans to turn out in large numbers to appreciate the team's successful qualification campaign.
Ghana's dominant performance against CAR saw them maintain their three-point lead at the top of Group I, putting them within formal reach of their fifth World Cup appearance and marking a triumphant return to the global stage.
