Black Stars coach Otto Addo has warned his team against complacency ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic, describing overconfidence as a "big danger" that could jeopardise their qualification hopes.
Ghana sits top of their qualifying group with 19 points and needs a victory to potentially secure their place in the 2026 World Cup. However, Addo emphasised that his players must not assume the game is already won.
"Everything is in our hands, but I hope that we learnt the lesson from the last away game against Chad," Addo stated. "It is important that we stay focused and concentrated and not think we have already won because that is a big danger."
The team enters the match unbeaten in their last six qualifiers, including last month's 1-0 victory over Mali. Addo acknowledged the positive momentum but stressed the need for complete focus against CAR.
The match will be played at Stade d'Honneur de Meknes in Morocco on Wednesday at 16:00 GMT, with Ghana aiming to take a major step toward World Cup qualification.
