Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei Oppong scored a stunning goal as Granada secured a commanding 5â2 victory over Real Sociedad B in La Liga 2 on Saturday night at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes.
Oppong, who played the full game, struck in the 30th minute with a brilliant right-footed shot from outside the box that nestled into the bottom right corner. His goal capped off a dominant first-half display from Granada, who were already four goals ahead through Souleymane Faye’s brace and strikes from Rubén Alcaraz and Alex Sola.
Real Sociedad B pulled two back through Gorka Carrera and Mikel Rodriguez, but it was too late to trouble Miguel González DÃaz’s side. Oppong’s assured defending and composed presence at the back delighted Granada fans as the team claimed a much-needed home win.
The victory lifts Granada’s spirits as they prepare to face Las Palmas in their next league match on October 10. Oppong has now made eight appearances this season, marking his first goal in the campaign.
