Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko expressed satisfaction with his team's 2-1 victory over Nations FC but insisted they should have scored more goals in their Ghana Premier League encounter at TNA Stadium in Tarkwa.
The win marked Medeama's third victory in four league matches, moving them to second place in the standings with nine points, just one behind leaders Kpando Heart of Lions.
"It was a really tough game," Tanko admitted in his post-match press conference. "The first 30 minutes was really good from us, we created chances, we scored one. I think we should have been two or three [goals] up."
Despite his frustration with the missed opportunities, the coach recognized the importance of the hard-fought victory for a team with title aspirations. "This is the kind of game you have to win if you have to fight for the league," he emphasized.
The result represents a strong start for Medeama as they seek to reclaim the league title they won two seasons ago, having finished eighth in the previous two campaigns.
