
The Elite U-15 Girls Championship kicked off in style at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, with 12 teams in action on an exciting opening day of competition.
In Group A, the Northern Region made a strong statement with a dominant 4-0 victory over Eastern Elite B. Alidu Rashida opened the scoring in the 10th minute after an assist from Alhassan Fuseina, who later added a goal of her own. Yussif Ayisha also found the net to cap off a commanding performance.
Greater Accra also impressed with a 2-0 win against Western Region, thanks to goals from Venunye Aglebe and Patience Gyaglo, placing them atop the group standings. Upper East edged Volta Region 1-0 in a tightly contested encounter, securing three vital points through an early first-half strike.
In Group B, Ashanti Region delivered the standout performance of the day, thrashing Upper West 9-0 in a one-sided contest that showcased their attacking prowess. Eastern Region followed with a solid 3-0 victory over Elite Academy, Bolga, with goals from Kpentey Belinda, Enyonam Ayikpoe, and Anima Jessica.
The day’s final fixture saw Brong Ahafo Region edge Central Region in a thrilling 4-3 encounter, sealing a narrow win in one of the most entertaining matches of Matchday 1.
