Premier League legend Alan Shearer has hailed Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo for his impressive form, declaring that the Bournemouth attacker has gone a level higher following another standout performance in the English top flight.
Semenyo was the difference-maker as Bournemouth staged a thrilling 3-1 comeback win over Fulham on Friday.
The 25-year-old scored twice to inspire the turnaround, first drawing his side level with a powerful strike before sealing the victory on the counter-attack with a composed finish.
His latest brace lifted his tally to six goals and three assists this season and took his Premier League total to 26 â moving past Tony Yeboah as Ghana’s second-highest scorer in the competition’s history.
Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer, included Semenyo in his Team of the Week, praising his consistency and growing influence at Bournemouth.
“Scored an outstanding brace to continue his incredible start to the season. Semenyo has gone to another level for Bournemouth,” Shearer remarked.
Semenyo’s sharpness and maturity in front of goal have been central to Bournemouth’s strong start to the campaign, marking a significant step forward for a player increasingly recognised as one of Ghana’s most impactful exports in the Premier League.
