Schlupp reflects on Celtic stadium visit nine years ago, excited by return opportunity
Jeffrey Schlupp has expressed his excitement after fulfilling a long-held dream of joining Celtic, with the 32-year-old Ghana international eager to achieve great things at the Scottish champions.Schlupp completed a deadline-day transfer from Crystal Palace to Celtic, signing for the remainder of the season. He could make his debut tonight against Dundee.In an interview with Celtic TV, Schlupp shared his enthusiasm: I'm super excited. It's actually been one of my dreams, as much as many others, to play for such a great club like Celtic.Reflecting on his previous experience with the club, Schlupp recalled playing at Celtic Park nine years ago during a pre-season match. I had the pleasure of playing here about nine years ago in a pre-season match, so I've actually been to the stadium before and the atmosphere and everything about it was something exciting. So as soon as the opportunity came up, I was really excited about it.Schlupp is also looking forward to reuniting with former Leicester City teammate Kasper Schmeichel, with whom he won the Premier League title in 2016.He spoke about their conversations before his move: Kasper was one of the first people I spoke to when this opportunity came up. He messaged me and we spoke, and he told me about how great the club is, how much I'll enjoy playing here, and I can't wait to link up again.Schlupp is eager to contribute to Celtic's ambitions, including a possible domestic treble and their upcoming Champions League play-off against Bayern Munich.I've watched the other Champions League games and the boys have performed so well in it. I want to repay the manager for the faith he has in bringing me here, and hopefully I can do that with some good performances and hopefully we, as a squad, can achieve some great things.
