Kofi Owusu links dressing room odours to black magic in Ghanaian football
Former Berekum Chelsea forward Kofi Owusu has corroborated Sulley Muntari's claims about the poor condition of Ghana Premier League dressing rooms, attributing the unpleasant smells to the frequent use of black magic, or juju, by clubs.Owusu explained that clubs often dispose of ritual materials in washrooms after games, and these are often left uncleaned, causing the smell to linger. When there are leftovers, they dump them in the washroom. Sometimes, the team wont play their next home game for two weeks, which is why the smell lingers, Owusu told Angel FM.He also suggested that some teams deliberately avoid cleaning the washrooms, believing it could interfere with their own rituals. Also, some people don't want the washrooms cleaned because they believe it could be a form of spiritual preparation for their return to the venue. These remarks support Muntaris earlier statements to 3Sports, where he described dressing outside the changing rooms due to the bad smell and lack of respect for hygiene.Muntari's comments highlighted the broader issue of subpar facilities in the league.
