Parliament is to reconvene for the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic would begin on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
The sitting will commence at 1400 hours at Parliament House in Accra, a statement signed by the Speaker, Mr. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, and issued by his Office on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, said.
According to a statement, Speaker Bagbin invoked Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament to formally notify Members of Parliament (MPs) and the public of the revised date.
The statement said, “Pursuant to the notice to defer the commencement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic dated 6th October 2025, I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, pursuant to Order 58, give notice that the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall now commence on Tuesday, 21st day of October 2025, at 1400 hours at Parliament House, Accra.”
The resumption marks the beginning of the Third and final meeting of the current parliamentary calendar year, during which key national issues, bills, and financial matters—especially ahead of the 2026 budget—are expected to be tabled for deliberation.
This announcement follows an earlier notice dated Monday, October 6, 2025, which deferred the original commencement date, Tuesday, October 14, of the Meeting.
As Parliament reconvenes, stakeholders and citizens alike are keenly awaiting the tabling of crucial bills and financial matters that will shape the country’s economic trajectory.
