The Rotary Club of Tarkwa is set to host a charity comedy show on October 11, 2025, to raise funds to furnish a newly completed six-unit classroom block built for the people of Menhuntem in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality in the Western Region.
The comedy show, which doubles as a community celebration and fundraiser, will feature an exciting lineup of Ghana’s top comedians and comic actors, including the entire Kejetia vs Mokola crew; Judge Louis Lamine, Clemento Suarez, Ado Dadzie, NGO, Jenetal Ntatia and Lawyer Atopagh.
Other stand-up acts on the bill include award-winning comedian Kwame Obed, whose maiden special “At an Early Age” is scheduled for November 14 in Accra, and Ebenezer Dwomoh, the architect-turned-comedian who recently thrilled audiences in Kenya and Nigeria.
The event will be graced by high-profile guests such as Past Assistant Governors Awal and Emmanuel Quarshie, Past District Governor David Amankwah, and the current District Governor, Nana Yaa Sirebo. The Municipal Chief Executive of Prestea Huni-Valley, Dr. Matthew Ayeh will also attend as a guest of honour.
Mr. Oliver Khan, a renowned Ship Dealer and philanthropist, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour, and is expected to deliver a keynote address at the programme.
Rotarian President of the Tarkwa Club, Vivian Cudjoe explained that in 2022, the Rotary Club of Tarkwa organized a similar comedy show to raise seed funds for the construction of the classroom block.
“With the building now completed, this year’s edition seeks to raise additional funds to provide furniture and complete interior works to make the facility fully functional for teaching and learning” she explained.
According to her the project reflects Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self”, using creative and engaging ways such as comedy to promote social development and improve educational infrastructure in rural communities.
