
Heart of Lions maintained their flawless start to the 2025/26 Premier League (PL) season with a 1-0 victory over Bechem United at the Kpando Sports Stadium, climbing to the top of the table with nine points from three matches.
Michael Ephson’s 59th-minute strike proved decisive as Bashir Hayford’s men extended their lead at the summit by two points, marking themselves out as early contenders for the title.
Accra Hearts of Oak also continued their strong run, edging Eleven Wonders 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday evening. Enock Asubonteng’s 17th-minute finish gave the Phobians back-to-back wins, lifting them to seven points and briefly top of the standings.
Karela United moved into second place after defeating Medeama 1-0 in Tamale, with Felix Mortu scoring the only goal in the 79th minute. The Pride and Passion remain unbeaten, while Medeama dropped to fourth after their first loss of the season.
In Tema, Vision FC recorded their first win of the campaign, beating newcomers Hohoe United 2-0. Nana Kusi Asante converted a penalty in the 54th minute before Emmanuel Sanja doubled the lead moments later.
Elsewhere, Nations FC were held to a goalless draw by FC Samartex at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Samartex, still winless, have drawn all three of their opening matches.
At Wenchi, Young Apostles were leading Dreams FC 1-0 through Richmond Opoku when heavy rain forced an abandonment. The fixture will resume on Monday with the hosts in front.
Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Goldstars did not feature, both engaged in continental assignments.
