
Ghana U17 midfielder Mensah Kagawa has assured Ghanaians that the team is determined to give everything on Tuesday in their semi-final clash against Nigeria’s U17 side in the ongoing WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Champions in Ivory Coast.
Speaking in a pre-match interview after the Black Starlets’ final training session on Monday, the talented teenager noted that the team is aware of the rivalry that exists between Ghana and Nigeria, adding that every player is keen on giving their best to ensure victory.
“We know Ghana-Nigeria matches go beyond football. It is a rivalry that carries history, pride, and passion. We are fully aware of what is at stake, and as a team, we are ready to give everything on the pitch to make the nation proud,” Kagawa said as quoted on ghanafa.org.
Tuesday’s showdown between Ghana and Nigeria at the WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship will be a high-stakes contest.
Both teams will be eyeing a win to advance to the final of the tournament, knowing that it will seal qualification to the next edition of the CAF U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The clash is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. GMT in Yamoussoukro.
