The 7th Volta Trade and Investment Fair is set to launch on Monday, August 25, 2025, in Juapong, marking the beginning of a series of activities leading up to the main event in November.
Regional Minister James Gunu in an interview explained that the choice of Juapong is intentional—an effort to spotlight the town’s business potential while drawing investor attention to the struggling Volta Star Textiles Company. By taking the launch outside the regional capital, the organisers aim to emphasize that the Volta Region’s opportunities extend far beyond the capital.
The Fair itself, slated for November 26 to December 8 in Ho, carries the theme “Volta Rising: Building Global Partnerships for a Thriving 24-Hour Economy.” For the first time, a trade fair will run on a 24-hour cycle on designated days, blending business, culture, tourism, and entertainment into a nonstop 13-day showcase.
Organised as a flagship public-private initiative, the Volta Fair has grown into one of the country’s premier platforms for investment promotion, positioning the region as a competitive hub for trade, tourism, industry, and innovation. This year promises to be the most ambitious yet.
Ahead of the fair, pre-events will set the tone—including corporate fun games, the Visit Volta: Experience Ghana tour, and a tourism and culture essay competition for schools.
The fair itself will be anchored by high-profile conferences and summits, including the first-ever Volta Investment Summit, the Women in Entrepreneurship Summit, the Youth in Entrepreneurship Summit, the ICT and Innovation Forum, and a specialised workshop on packaging technology. Cultural highlights such as the Ghana-India Business Dinner, the Creative Arts Forum, Farmers Day celebrations, and district days will add further depth.
Businesses and investors from across Ghana will be joined by international participants from Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia, India, Malaysia, and beyond, underscoring the Fair’s growing global appeal.
The August 25 launch in Juapong officially kicks off the countdown to a groundbreaking edition of the Volta Trade and Investment Fair, one that promises to redefine regional investment promotion with its unique 24-hour model, global partnerships, and dynamic blend of business and culture.
