Asante Kotoko have set their sights on former Hearts of Oak midfielder Salim Adams, who is also reported to be on the radar of clubs abroad.
Local reports suggest the Porcupine Warriors have already opened discussions with the player’s camp as they seek to bolster their midfield options.
The 22-year-old is currently unattached after running down his contract with Hearts earlier this year.
Despite being offered an extension, Adams opted against committing his future to the Phobians, leaving him free to assess fresh opportunities at home and abroad.
Adams, known for his imposing frame and ball-winning qualities, enjoyed a strong introduction to top-flight football when he joined Hearts in 2021.
His performances earned him a loan spell with Major League Soccer side FC Cincinnati, before he returned to the Ghanaian topflight midway through the 2023/24 season. During that stint, he contributed two goals and an assist in 14 appearances.
Last season, however, his involvement was limited to just 10 league games, where he managed a single goal before parting ways with the Accra-based side.
Kotoko remain keen to strike a deal, but the Kumasi club could face stiff competition. Reports indicate Adams is weighing up offers from two overseas clubs, one based in Canada and the other in Israel.
Talks are said to be ongoing as the midfielder considers his next career move.
