The MTN Ghana Foundation has reiterated its commitment in supporting Ghanaians, especially the youth to explore the digital age and remain relevant in the future of work.
This, the telecommunication giant believes, is one of the surest ways to involve every individual and businesses in contributing to and experiencing the possibilities that digital revolution offers.
Speaking to Ultimate Business at the 2019 Springboard Roadshow in Kumasi on Saturday, Senior Manager, Commercial, Legal and Company Secretary at MTN Ghana, Pala Asiedu Ofori mentioned that: “Digitization is seeking to improve the very things we’re already doing; so whether you’re selling products and services, whether it’s information that you’re seeking on the internet, digitization enables you to be more efficient and have more productive results and this is what MTN does for you and that’s why we say #WeDey4U because we provide you the platform and assistance to make you more efficient.”
She added that: “Digital revolution is meant to challenge the youth, as in look at their current existence and find out what they can do to improve themselves. It’s like a tide that is here with us and unless you swim, you’re going to sink and so you need to use whatever information there is for your self-development and improvement so that 10 years from now, you’re going to be relevant in the space that you operate.”
Mrs. Asiedu Ofori also expressed her delight about how the youth of today is challenging the status quo and was optimistic there is more room for change and improvement.
“I’m excited about what I have seen in the youth, they are open minded, they see where life is going and they want to plug in and as MTN we’re here to support them every step of the way; like we say #WeDey4U.”
“Basically we’re making all kinds of products and services available to our youth and the foundation side regarding our corporate social investment as well.”
The MTN Ghana Foundation has for the past 11 years been a solid backbone to Legacy and Legacy’s Springboard Roadshow and this underscores their resolve to improving education. MTN Ghana Foundation is the corporate social investment wing of Ghana’s biggest mobile network provider.
“We need to constantly educate and this is what the MTN Ghana Foundation and Springboard are doing and you know at the Foundation, apart from health and economic empowerment, one other important pillar is education and we believe that education is one of the springboards that can leverage our youth into the next level that they need to be in”, the MTN Ghana Company Secretary hinted.
She meanwhile advised individuals not to rest on your laurels as the world is constantly changing.
“What you need to do is to constantly assess yourself, look at what you can use to make yourself more efficient and more productive so that at the end of the day, you’ll constantly be relevant wherever you find yourself.”
The Springboard Road Show aims at mentoring business executives, civil society leaders, role models and also to develop human capital for social transformation.
Other partners of the event held at the Calvary Charismatic Church included Universal Merchant Bank, DataBank, Enterprise Life, Persol Limited, Yebbs Cleaning Services, Yoks-Rent-a-Car and the Multimedia Group.
