
The Ghana Police Service has successfully arrested three individuals in connection with a violent robbery incident in Wassa Afransie, Western Region.
The suspects are alleged to have stolen gold valued at GHS199,000 along with other valuable items during the attack.
According to an official statement released on the Police Service's Facebook page on Saturday, April 26, 2025, the arrests were made following an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Western Central Regional Command.
The apprehended suspects have been identified as Felix Adjei (also known as Africa or Nana Adjei), Emmanuel Kelvin (a Nigerian national), and Kofi Appiah (alias Kesse).
Police investigations reveal that the robbery occurred on April 4, 2025, when Kofi Appiah, who worked as a driver for Mas Palasco Gold Buying Limited, was returning from Wassa Ayiem with colleague Emmanuel Adu after collecting gold from a client.

Their vehicle was ambushed by armed men who emerged from nearby bushes. The assailants fired warning shots before making off with 14 pounds of gold, two mobile phones, and an unregistered Toyota Corolla, which was later discovered abandoned in a nearby community.
Following thorough investigations, Kofi Appiah was arrested at his residence in Wassa Akropong on April 21, 2025.
His alleged accomplices were subsequently apprehended at different hideouts. During the operation, police recovered significant evidence, including a Jojeff pump-action gun, a Calymm PDS pistol, various ammunition rounds, and GHS65,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from the robbery.

The three suspects currently remain in police custody as investigations continue. The Ghana Police Service has assured the public of its commitment to combating armed robbery and bringing perpetrators to justice.
