The Information Minister says reports suggesting he owns a 4-wheel drive with a customised number plate are totally false.
The Minister for Information Mustapha Hamid has strongly refuted claims that he owns a white Toyota Land Cruiser with a customized number plate.
According to him, he has never used such a car, insisting he will never customize the number of his vehicle either in his name or otherwise.
In a Facebook post the Information Minister said checks from the Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) indicate that the said vehicle registration number does not exist.
He, therefore, urged the public to report “to the nearest police station since the registration is fake which is criminal”.
His comments come after allegations of the ownership of a white 4-wheel drive were leveled against him.
The allegations sought to suggest that the Information Minister was part of employees of the Nana Addo administration who have started driving luxurious cars since being put into office a year ago.
However, reacting to the allegations, the minister said he does “not own the said vehicle” and has “never owned or used a white 4x4 wheel drive”.
