Nostalgia: New Nokia 3310 now on sale for 278 cedis

Nokia 3310 is back!

The newly improved Nokia 3310 is finally now on sale to customers around the world.

Unlike its predecessor, the new phones have a camera (two megapixels) and have internet connectivity. They are also noticeably thinner and lighter than the original ones released some 17 years ago.

 

The phones are also relatively cheap compared to the phones that are currently market leaders. They cost just 50 pounds, which is about 278 cedis.

While users can connect to social media using the Opera web browser, there will be WhatsApp as the operating system it runs on does not support the instant messaging app. However, one thing that has made a return is the addict game, Snake, which was at the centre of many young lives at the turn of the century.

 

For many, the Nokia 3310 was their first ever mobile phone and the struggling Finnish phone makers are hoping the nostalgia would be a way of winning the hearts of consumers back to phones. The battery also last for a week before another charge will be needed and Nokia would be hoping many smartphone users would buy it as their backup phones.

Although, they have just gone on sale in places such as the UK, anyone looking to buy the new Nokia 3310 phones in Ghana will have to wait a while longer.
