Being punctual

 

Honouring a schedule and being on time should not be an option for a gentleman. It is a must.

Maximum respect to everyone

Respect may have to be earned but for a gentleman, respect is a gift for all even if they’ve not made the necessary efforts to earn it. Just do it. Respect everyone at all times.

Learning to be considerate and kind

An act of kindness speaks volumes about one’s character. Be considerate. Be kind. It is a true virtue of a gentleman.

Saying ‘please’ and ‘thank you’

 

Please, do very well to be polite at all times. No one will teach you this. Thank you.

Walking on the outside of the side walk

Walking on the outside of the walkway when one is with a lady is a sign of protection. Protecting them from traffic and splashes. Simply put, a gentleman should be a safety mechanism for his lady. Or any lady.

Giving up your seat for the elderly and ladies

No excuses whatsoever. For a gentleman, this should be an involuntary instinct.

Opening doors for ladies

 

Opening doors for ladies is one of the most known habits people easily pick up. Well done gentlemen.

Helping a lady get seated when on a date

Take off her coat if any. Pull the chair for her to sit. If she’s comfortable, then you can move on to your seat.

Giving out your jacket when she’s cold

 

Fashion for women on a night out is usually bizarre considering the ability to get cold easily. But they must look good anyway and make you their fall back option. When the going gets tough, just give out your coat for their warmth without them asking. It’s a rule if you want to be a gentleman.

A gentleman never hits a woman. Never!
