President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has left the shores of Ghana for an official working visit to three ECOWAS countries.
In a statement, the visits also "explore and deepen our bilateral relations with them, and reiterate Ghana’s full commitment to the ECOWAS project."

The President would also use the occasion to introduce himself formally and reiterate Ghana’s full commitment to the ECOWAS project.

The presidents tour includes:
• Togo: 2nd – 4th May, 2017
• Burkina Faso: 4th – 5th May, 2017
• Cote d’Ivoire: 5th – 7th May, 2017
In the remaining days of the month, Nana Addo will visit seven countries. He will visit Nigeria, Senegal, Guinea, Benin, Cape Verde, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

The President will be accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway MP, and officials of the Presidency and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In his absence, the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution will act as the president of Ghana.
