Two persons have been arrested in connection with a robbery attack on a mobile money vendor and anotherman, at Walewale in the North-East Region
The two suspects, Zakaria Yamusa, also known as Vandam, and Fatao Issah, according to police report, shot and killed a mobile money vendor and another victim, and injured seven others.
The Director of Police Public Affairs Directorate, Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP)Grace AnsahAkrofi, disclosed this in a press statement sighted by the Ghanaian Times, in Accra, yesterday.
The suspects are said to been in custody assisting the police in investigations, according to the police.
The statement said the suspects last Monday, attacked their victims resulting in the death of two and injures on the seven others.
The statement revealed that the Inspector General of Police, (IGP) Dr George Akuffo Dampare through a telephone commiserated with the bereaved family, and gave the assurance that the police would investigate the incident and bring the culprits to book.
Additionally, the North-East Regional Police Commander had led personnel to visit the injured persons at the hospital and also commiserated with the families of the deceased.
In another development, the police in its Facebook post has stated they had commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 47-year-old male adult at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region.
The deceased, identified as Eric Baidoo, a trader, was allegedly stabbed by a suspect currently on the run last Thursday.
According to the police, the body had since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue, in Accra.
The statement indicated that a police delegation from Temahas commiserated with the family of the deceased, and assured them of thorough investigations into the incident to arrest perpetrators.
