Leadership of the Progressive School Feeding Caterers Association Ghana (POSCAG) has threatened a strike action by its members if the government fails to address pressing issues they have raised concerns over.
In a press statement dated July 4, 2024 and signed by Gifty Asamoah and Dorothy Ofori-Sarpong, President and Secretary respectively, the Association is demanding payment for the second term, by July 12, 2024 and that of the third term before the next academic year.
The Association noted that the government used GH¢1.20p to calculate the recent approval of GH¢1.50p for each pupil instead of GH¢3.00 and demanded that the difference be paid.
It wants the government and School Feeding Secretariat to address the delayed payments, under payments and demand of tax certificate, among others as a condition.
“If all the concerns are not addressed, the caterers shall lay down their tools”, the statement said.
