Professor Kingsley Nyarko and Mr Richmond Agyenim Boateng, the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso and the Kwadaso Municipal Chief Executive respectively, have jointly commissioned two Police Stations for Kwadaso-Nsiah Asare and Apatrapa-Pokukrom.
The two facilities were funded through the MP’s Common fund to ensure reliable security and maintenance of law and order in the communities.
Six State-of-the-Art institutional toilet facilities were also commissioned for some selected schools in the constituency.
Commissioning the projects, MP Nyarko explained that the security of his constituents was his priority, for which he used his share of the MP’s common fund to support the Assembly to build the facilities to ensure the safety of the people.
He was optimistic that the two Police Stations at Apatrapa-Pokukrom and Kwadaso would ensure peace, security, law and order, as well as protect the lives and properties of the electorate, whilst they go about their daily activities in a conducive environment without fear.
He expressed appreciation to Oheneba Nana Achiaa Panin III, Queen mother of Apatrapa for providing a piece of land free of charge for the project, and called on the residents to volunteer accurate information to the police to protect them.
Mr Agyenim Boateng, the MCE for Kwadaso Municipality also commended the Member of Parliament for his efforts and determination to ensure improved standard of living and security and that, besides these interventions, the MP has been offering scholarships to students.
Supt. Akwasi Yeboah, Abuakwa Divisional Police Commander, who represented the Ashanti Regional Police chief commended the MP and the MCE for their efforts in beefing up security in the constituency.
He pleaded with members of the communities to assist and provide the police with accurate information to ensure that the personnel maintain law and order.
According to him, modern policing entails a collaboration of the police and the citizenry to ensure peace, law and order for the socio-economic development of the people and assured the MP and the MCE that the facilities would be well maintained.
In another development, the MP and the Kwadaso MCE also commissioned State-of-the-Art Institutional modern toilet facilities for selected schools in the constituency.
It includes 1 No 11-Seater Water closet Toilets and Ancillary facilities built with funding from the World Bank, through the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resource.
The beneficiary schools are the Atwima Amamfrom cluster of schools, Kwadaso SDA ‘A’ and ‘B’, Apatrapa R/C cluster of schools, Nyankyerenease D/A primary and Kwadaso-Asuoyeboah SDA ‘A’ and ‘B’ Primary and Junior High School respectively.
