
The improvement of Ghana’s latest position could be attributed to their 2-0 victory over Ethiopia during their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Addis Ababa on November 18.
The November ranking released by the global football governing body saw the Black Stars improving from their previous 1407 points to 1412 points.
Senegal was ranked as the best country on the continent with 1505 points and occupy the 23rd spot on the globe and closely followed by Tunisia who dropped four points to their current 1493 points and are 26th on the globe.
Eight times Africa champions, Egypt are eighth on the continent and 56th in the world while 2015 Africa champions, Cote d’Ivoire have slipped again to the 11th position on the continent and 65th in the world.
Surprisingly, Morocco, Nigeria and DR Congo are all ranked ahead of the Black Stars in third, fourth and fifth positions respectively, while Ghana are ahead of Cameroun, Egypt, Burkina Faso and Mali who followed in that order to complete the top 10 table. Read Full Story
