Black Stars coach Otto Addo is keeping a calm and disciplined approach as Ghana intensify preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars secured their ticket to the tournament with an impressive qualifying campaign and will now look to make their mark in Group L against England, Croatia, and Panama.
Despite their strong form, Addo says Ghana will remain focused and humble throughout the competition. Under his leadership, the Black Stars went unbeaten in qualifiers. The team’s only group loss came earlier under former coach Chris Hughton.
“We didn’t lose a single official qualifying game. We did very well,” Addo said. “We just played one draw and the rest we won, so we had quite a good year in 2025, after a bad year in 2024.”
While acknowledging the threat posed by European heavyweights England and Croatia, the Ghana manager insists his squad will approach every opponent with equal seriousness.
“For me as a coach, I’m looking at each and every game equally,” he noted.
Addo also highlighted the growing unity and youthful energy within his team, pointing to their strong chemistry as a key factor heading into the tournament.
Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto before facing England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27, with qualification hopes resting on their collective discipline, confidence, and determination.
