Eleven Wonders head coach Emmanuel Aidoo has described his team’s win over Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League on Monday as a special birthday gift from his players.
Aidoo, who celebrated his birthday on the day of the match, revealed that he had asked his squad for a victory to mark his special day, and they delivered with a determined performance that secured all three points.
“Winning against Dreams FC is a great feeling. You know today is my birthday, so I told my boys and they asked me what do I want. I told them to win this match for me, and that’s what they have done,” Aidoo said.
Despite the joy of the win, Aidoo emphasised that Eleven Wonders cannot afford to relax, as their current league position demands continued hard work and consistency in the matches ahead.
“The celebration will end right here because where we are sitting on the league table is not good. We will put these three points somewhere, and we will push for more points in the upcoming games,” Coach Aidoo added.
Despite Monday’s win, Eleven Wonders remain bottom of the Ghana Premier League standings.
Up next for the team, they will take on Swedru All Blacks during Week 13.
