Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito is making sure his players stay alert and respect every opponent as they continue their campaign in the Ghana Premier League.
He believes that every match against Kotoko becomes a big occasion for other clubs, so his team must always stay focused and prepared.
The Porcupine Warriors travel to the AAK II Arena on Wednesday to face Basake Holy Stars in their outstanding match-week three fixture. Zito has reminded his players that teams raise their game when they face Kotoko, and that the pressure and excitement around such games can push opponents to their best.
“This will not deceive us as I said every match against Kotoko is a tough match whether the team plays well or not against Kotoko it is a different issue altogether the supporters and everybody will be there. Look at what happened yesterday I dont think ever since we started the league they have such supporters in the field like yesterday everybody was happy both Samartex and Kotoko supporters where happy they were jubilating," as aired by Peace FM.
"It is only for Asante Kotoko so wherever we go we go with people and then the motivation there is we have to play and win other than that it cant be even a player get sick he will tell you he will play because it is against Kotoko. So we know it and I have sensitized them about it so they have to be ready any other game there is no underrating no underestimating any club,”
Kotoko head into the match unbeaten in 10 games, the only side yet to lose this season.
