Semper Fi coach Moses Adjin-Tettey has insisted his team remains focused on their game rather than officiating controversies following a 2-1 victory over Home Stars.
The win marked their fourth consecutive triumph across all competitions.
Adjin-Tettey said, "It was a good win after three straight wins. If they have issues, perhaps it’s officiating. I don’t focus on officiating issues. We played good football, we had a lot of chances, and we capitalised on them. We didn’t switch off in the second half, even though we were two goals up. The opponent came in strongly, but we had more transitions and didn’t just sit back.”
Kelvin Awuku opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half, followed by a well-taken goal from Samuel Owusu, giving Semper Fi a comfortable lead at halftime. Home Stars, unbeaten in their previous six league matches, pulled one back in the second half through Kofi Boakye’s penalty, but it was not enough to halt Semper Fi.
The victory not only ends Home Stars’ impressive run but also strengthens Semper Fi’s strong start to the season. Their next challenge is an away clash against bottom-placed Great Ambition.
