The Court of Arbitration for Sport has thrown out the case filed by King Faisal FC against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over congress’s third-term decision.
The decision was delivered in Lausanne on November 17, 2025, effectively ending the dispute over the GFA’s Third Term decision taken during the Congress held on August 12, 2025.
King Faisal filed the appeal on September 1, seeking to challenge several decisions made at the GFA Congress. The club submitted its Statement of Appeal and paid the initial CHF 1,000 fee.
After filing its Appeal Brief on September 12, the GFA also submitted its responses, including an objection to King Faisal’s request for a stay of execution. That request was dismissed on October 1.
As the case progressed, CAS instructed both parties to pay their share of the advance cost of CHF 23,000 by October 23.
Despite reminders from CAS, King Faisal failed to make the payment or provide proof that it had been made. On November 11, CAS notified both sides that the matter would be terminated since the deadline had passed without any action from the club.
With no further communication from King Faisal after the GFA filed its Answer, CAS deemed the appeal withdrawn.
As a result, the case has been officially struck out and removed from the CAS roll.
The ruling means all decisions taken by the GFA Congress on August 12, including the Third Term limitation that took immediate effect, remain fully in force.
