Ghana coach Otto Addo has offered a detailed assessment of South Korea ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly, describing the Asian side as a balanced and formidable opponent with threats across the pitch.
Addo noted that his technical team has closely reviewed several South Korea games in preparation for the clash, and the conclusion is clear: Ghana will face a well-drilled and talented side.
"We saw a lot of matches from South Korea. We know what they are capable of. They have a lot of very good players in defence, like Kim from Bayern Munich. But also up front, they are very strong with Lee from PSG and Son, definitely.
Wang, for example, and another Lee from Mainz. So, we know them very well; they have had some good results. Also, the last result against Bolivia, they played very well. So, we know their strength. It is going to be a difficult match. I think it is going to be even, and we are looking forward to the match tomorrow,” Addo said.
He highlighted South Korea’s organisation, work rate, and technical ability as key attributes that Ghana must be ready to confront.
Addo added that matches against strong sides such as South Korea are valuable for Ghana’s rebuilding process, especially at a time when injuries have forced several changes to the squad.
The two teams share a recent history of memorable fixtures, the most notable being Ghana's dramatic 3-2 victory at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
