St Patrick's Athletic goalkeeper Joseph Anang has expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their support after making his Black Stars debut in the Kirin Cup tournament against Japan.
Anang started ahead of first-choice shot-stopper Benjamin Asare as coach Otto Addo tests his options ahead of next summer's World Cup in North America.
The former West Ham United player had a decent performance on his first national team outing as Ghana suffered a 2-0 defeat in Nagoya-Japan.
The 25-year-old could retain his place between the sticks in the next game against South Korea in Seoul on Tuesday.
"Extremely appreciative of getting the opportunity to wear the national team jersey for the first time. A proud moment I will never forget. Also want to say a massive thank you to Ghanaians for their support," he posted on social media after the game.
The goalkeeping department has been up for debate in recent weeks with some section of fans unconvinced by Asare's performances despite his incredible record.
The Black Stars will find out their opponents for the World Cup group stage in next month's draw to be held in Washington, DC.
