The MTN Elite U19 Championship reaches its decisive stage on Friday, October 31, 2025, with two blockbuster semi-final encounters at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, as four of Ghana’s most talented regional sides battle for a place in Sunday’s grand finale.
The opening semi-final will see Eastern Region face off against Greater Accra Region in what promises to be a captivating contest between two of the tournament’s most consistent performers.
Eastern Region, who finished top of Group A with nine points, enter the clash full of confidence. Under the astute leadership of Coach Godie Nana Mensah, they began their campaign in fine style, recording three consecutive victories over Upper West, Western, and Brong Ahafo Regions before suffering a narrow 1â0 defeat to Northern Region in their final group game.
Their opponents, Greater Accra Region, placed second in Group B after a strong showing that included three wins from four matches. The capital side notched up convincing victories against Upper East, Volta, and Central Regions, before narrowly losing 2â1 to eventual group winners Ashanti Region in a fiercely contested encounter.
Later in the day, attention will turn to the second semi-final as Ashanti Region take on Brong Ahafo Region at 4:00 p.m. local time in what is expected to be another thrilling clash.
Ashanti Region advanced as Group B winners, collecting three wins and a draw in the group phase. Their statement victory â a 2â1 win over Greater Accra â in the final group match confirmed their dominance and underlined their championship credentials.
Meanwhile, Brong Ahafo Region, who finished second in Group A, have impressed with their attacking flair and tactical discipline throughout the tournament. With three wins and just one loss, they will be aiming to continue their strong form and secure a coveted place in the final.
Both semi-finals promise high-quality football, with all four teams boasting exceptional young talent, technical ability, and the hunger to lift the ultimate prize. The winners will meet in Sunday’s grand finale, which will bring the curtain down on an exhilarating edition of the competition.
