Black Queens head coach, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, says his side is fully prepared for their 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Egypt despite having only three days of training ahead of the first leg in Ismailia.
The team arrived on Monday and quickly settled into their final preparations. Bjorkegren admitted that while more training time would have been ideal, the players have responded positively and are ready to compete.
"You prefer to have a little bit more time, but it is what it is, so no excuses. We have prepared the team in the best way. We have watched Egypt, how we think that they are going to play, but more important, how we want to play. We know that we are a good team, so we have all the chances to win, especially over two games," Björkegren said.
Ghana, who finished third at the previous WAFCON in Morocco, are determined to make a return to the continental tournament and build on their strong performances earlier this year.
