The West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B has officially confirmed Benin as the host nation for the 2025 WAFU B U20 Girls Cup, scheduled to take place from November 3 to 10, 2025.
The week-long tournament will bring together some of the most promising young female football talents from across West Africa, providing a platform to showcase the region’s future stars and promote the continued growth of women’s football.
So far, Benin, Ghana, Nigeria and Niger have confirmed their participation, with additional member nations expected to finalize their entries in the coming days.
The Black Princesses of Ghana will head to Benin as the defending champions, aiming to retain the title they won during the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2023.
That maiden competition, hosted in Kumasi, Ghana, saw the Princesses overcome long-time rivals Nigeria 3â1 on penalties after a tightly contested final ended in a stalemate. The victory cemented Ghana’s reputation as one of the region’s leading forces in women’s youth football.
The WAFU B U20 Girls Cup has quickly become a cornerstone event for women’s football development in West Africa. It offers invaluable international exposure and competitive experience for emerging female players, serving as a key stepping stone toward senior national team opportunities and professional careers.
As the 2025 edition approaches, anticipation is building for another exciting showcase of skill, teamwork, and talent â a celebration of the bright future of women’s football in the sub-region.
