The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed JoeSalam Abubakar as the new Chairman of the National Juvenile Committee (NJC).
He takes over from GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, who had led the committee since 2019.
Abubakar, who is President of Tema-based Division Two side Tema United FC, previously served as the 1st Vice Chairman of the NJC.
His elevation is seen as a recognition of his longstanding commitment to grassroots football and his proven track record in nurturing young talents within the juvenile football ecosystem.
Supporting him in his new role will be Samuel Anim Addo, who has been named Vice Chairman.
Anim Addo, a seasoned football administrator and former GFA Executive Council member, was formerly the 2nd Vice Chairman of the committee and has consistently played a key role in youth football development across the country.
Other members of the reconstituted NJC include Michael Kwabla Fiaduse (Greater Accra Juvenile Committee Chairman), Amidu Abdulai “Camarat” (President of Namoro FC, Ashanti Region), Joseph Epton (President of Golden Kicks FC), Daniel Larbie Akowuah (International Relations Manager, Tudu Mighty Jets), and Ibrahim Musah Kessie (Vice Chairman, Northern Regional FA).
The NJC serves as the backbone of Ghana football, responsible for policy design, competitions, and the overall development of juvenile structures nationwide.
With Abubakar at the helm, the committee is expected to inject fresh ideas, strengthen existing frameworks, and ensure Ghana continues to produce world-class football talents.
