German Bundesliga side Hamburger SV have reopened contract extension talks with Ghana forward Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer.
The club, in May 2025, started negotiations with the representatives of the player, hoping to tie him down to a long-term deal.
However, due to interest from French Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice in June, Hamburger SV backed down, convinced the forward would leave the club in the summer window.
Although an agreement was reached with the German club to sign Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer, the deal fell through at the last minute when OGC Nice pulled out over concerns about the player’s health after a mandatory medical examination.
After the failed transfer, the Ghanaian returned to Hamburger SV, where he has re-established himself as a key man for the team.
Impressed with the commitment of Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer, Hamburger SV have decided to resume their contract extension talks with the forward.
According to sources, the 24-year-old is happy at the German club and is open to signing a new contract.
The player’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2026, giving Hamburger SV enough time to engage and seal the extension.
